Humboldt-University of Berlin
Climate protection in all areas
Climate change is felt by all of us and it is more important than ever that we act. Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin also wants to make its contribution to a sustainable society. It has the goal of being climate-neutral by 2030 and has thus set itself the task of consistently aligning its action with climate protection and coordinating the university’s diverse activities in study and teaching, research, operations and governance structures with one another. The climate protection management working behind this is the result of years of commitment by HU members – in particular that of the students of the Sustainability Office. Since 2019, there has also been the Commission for a Sustainable University (KNU), whose tasks include advising the Academic Senate on sustainability issues.
